What you'll learn
The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, offers this certification.
- Objective: To provide a foundation-level course in computer applications, equipping students with essential skills for IT careers such as a web designer or programmer assistant.
- Duration: One year (two semesters of six months each).
- Eligibility: Typically requires 10+2 passing, a one-year ITI certificate after class 10, or successful completion of the second year of a government-recognized polytechnic engineering diploma course.
- Syllabus: Covers IT tools and business systems, internet technology and web design, programming and problem solving through Python/C language, and applications of .NET or multimedia technologies.
- Recognition: Recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to a Foundation Course in IT for employment in central government posts and services.
- Examinations: Conducted twice a year, in January and July, consisting of both theory and practical exams.
