- Introduction to computers: What is a computer, types of computers, basic components (CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse), hardware vs. software, and data vs. information.
- Operating system: Navigating the user interface, managing files and folders, and using the Control Panel or System Settings.
2. Productivity software
- Word Processing (e.g., MS Word): Creating, formatting, and printing documents, including spell check and grammar check.
- Spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel): Basic formulas, charts, tables, and data sorting/filtering.
- Presentations (e.g., MS PowerPoint): Creating and delivering presentations, working with slides, and using graphics.
3. Internet and communication
- Web browsing: Using web browsers (like Chrome, Firefox, Edge), effective searching, and understanding URLs.
- Email: Setting up, sending, receiving, and managing emails, including etiquette.
4. Cybersecurity and safety
- Online safety: Avoiding scams, recognizing phishing attempts, and safe browsing practices.
- Password safety: Creating strong passwords and managing them securely.
5. Additional skills
- Typing: Improving typing speed and accuracy, often through touch typing.
